Collection: Blueprints from the Sea

In the mid-1800s, Anna Atkins was coaxing images out of sunlight and seawater - pressing algae onto light-sensitive paper and letting the sun do the work.. She was a scientist, an artist, and one of the earliest photographers who ever lived - though it took the world a long time to say so. This collection puts her work where it belongs: in your hands, in your kitchen, in daily use.
